Kim Byung-Su

Abstract
Conventional drugs for migraine prevention can induce frequent side effect and be unsafe for special population, such as children and pregnant women. Currently, there are some evidence with regard to the use of herbs, minerals, vitamins,
and supplements in migraine prevention. Two basic potential mechanisms for their use for migraine prevention are as
follows: (1) reducing migraine brain neuronal hyper-excitability and (2) improving energy metabolism. Proper use of
them, considering lifestyle, comorbidities, and condition, might be helpful in migraine patients.
